Macey and Arnold returned just like they had left.

‘What was I expecting?’

My heart plummeted so hard I almost gagged. If anything had changed, it was the look on their faces. It wasn’t particularly bored or anxious this time. It wasn’t playful either… It was focused. Serious even.

I braced myself, expecting pain. Interrogation Torture maybe.
