“Lisa is nowhere to be found.”

The words glared at me from my screen. For a moment, I couldn’t move, couldn’t think. The sounds of murmur and hushed conversations dulled into a distant hum, swallowed by the hammering of my pulse. I tried to remain calm and composed on the outside. But inside, I raged.

My thumb hovered over Damon’s last message, the words burning into my brain yet refusing to seem… real.

‘Lisa is nowhere to be found.’
