Liam Troope

In the days following Allyson's call to the office and discovering that Roderick lied to her, Allyson tried her very best to conceal her hurt, she immersed herself completely in chores and shopping.

She harbored the belief that whatever it is Roderick was hiding from her, it was for her own good. He's been coming back home very late, and leaving early in the morning. Allyson believed he was working on something crucial and she's tried her best not to get in his way.

Tonight she was attending a fashion event with her best friend and she was going to have a swell time. She wasn't up for it at first but Cassie doesn't take no for an answer.

She dropped a message for Roderick, letting him know she'll be out late, after calling several times and getting no response.

She heard the doorbell ring, and headed to the front door, Cassie stood in front of her looking all glammed up.

“Hey girl, are you ready?” Cassie breezed past her, and sashayed into the massive living room.

“Almost. Give me a minute, I'll be right back.” Allyson ascended the stairs to pick up her bag. Cassie was already making herself comfortable, because she was headed down towards the wine cellar, right behind the bar.

Stepping into her room, Allyson quickly added some finishing touches to her makeup and reapplied her dior rouge shiny red lipstick. Staring at her image in front of the mirror, satisfied with her look, Allyson picked up her bag and headed towards the door, when her phone rang.

It was Roderick.

“Hey baby,” her soft alluring voice filled the room.

“Hey, I was calling to let you know I'll be working late. We're trying to close a deal with a software company, and this would mean a lot for our company. So don't wait up for me.” Roderick said, there were voices in the background but Allyson couldn't make out what they were saying.

“It's okay. I dropped a message for you, I'll be hanging out with Cassie tonight.”

“Fine,” he sounded uncomfortable and sceptical. Allyson didn't want him to change his mind like he did in the past.

“Alright then, I'll call you when I get home.”

“Sure.”

“Love you,” Allyson wasn't expecting a response, so she hung up. She gave herself one quick glance in the mirror and hurried downstairs to meet Cassie.

Cassie was sitting down, staring at her phone and smiling, a half filled champagne flute on her other hand, an open bottle of the 1869 Chàteau Lafite wine was sitting pretty on the table. One of Roderick's favorites.

Allyson grabbed a flute from the bar and joined Cassie on the sofa.

“You look amazing Ally,” Cassie smile, taking her eyes off the phone.

“You too, so cheers to a fun night,” Allyson said, raising her glass.

“To having a blast.” Cassie did the same.

They both finished their drinks and headed out, giggling like highschool teenagers.

The 1997 Atelier Versace Fall collection was going to be displayed tonight here in Utah. It was one of the biggest runway events taking place in the city. It was an elaborate fashion event with world class runway models.

Both ladies knew they weren't going to miss this event for anything in the world. Allyson knew irrespective of how much fun she was going to have, she had to be home before midnight. Roderick won't be back until then.

They got into the venue for the event, and made their way to their seats, thanks to Cassie they got the front roll seats.

“You haven't told me how you were able to get us one of the best seats here Cassie,” Allyson said, pulling down her dress. Cassie wasn't listening, she was on her phone, she had a smile on her face.

“You've been on your phone since we got here ma'am. Who are you talking to?” Allyson asked Cassie, who had no idea she was being watched, swiftly slipping her phone back in her purse, she turned her attention to her friend.

“It’s nothing, the show is about to start,” Cassie turned to face the stage, trying so hard to conceal her smile.

Allyson gave her the ‘girl spill’ look.

“Fine,” she raised her hand in resignation. “I met someone, I really like him and all I want to do is talk about him, but I'm worried I'll jinx it, so I don't want to talk about him.” They both laughed. Cassie is a handful.

“I'm very happy for you Cas, you deserve to be happy and….”

“Hey ladies,” they both looked up towards the direction of the voice. Standing six foot two, in a perfectly tailored three piece grey suit, was Liam Troope.

This is the first time since their breakup Allyson is setting her eyes on Liam. He's changed a whole lot, he looks bigger and muscular, his once dark brown hair is two shades lighter. Those deep blue eyes that pierced through one's soul, staring down at her.

“Liam, wha..” words are failing her. Since the last time he called her, Allyson couldn't stop thinking about him, about them. Liam tried several times to reach her after then, but she knows too well not to let that happen. She's dealing with so much already.

Taking the seat next to her, Liam straightened his hair and extended his arm for a handshake and Allyson obliged and withdrew her hand immediately both palms came in contact. Liam smiled and acknowledged Cassie, who has suddenly gone quiet since Liam's arrival.

Allyson looked at Cassie, demanding an explanation and immediately realization dawned on her, Liam paid for these seats and they both planned to bring her out here. Allyson couldn't believe Cassie could be this insensitive.

“I'm sorry Ally, he was persistent and it's not a big deal. After All you guys ain't doing anything wrong.” Cassie blurted out, after she noticed Allyson’s countenance.

“It's all my fault, Cassie has nothing to do with this. I needed to see you, and boy you look exquisite. My ever charming Allyson. I've missed you and I know I'm in no place to ask for anything, but please forgive me for bringing out here today to have fun. I'm the guilty one here, Please.” He gave her the puppy eyes, and she smiled at him, hitting him across the chest playfully.

“You are sick. But yeah I've missed you too.” Those words felt atrocious coming from her.

Allyson needed to remind herself that she was married.
