We walk hand-in-hand on the beach, lost in our worlds as the beautiful chaos of beachgoers and surfers surrounds us. Apex tugs me toward the sidewalk, saying, "Let's go over here. There's something I want to show you."

We walk away from the beach and across the street to a row of glitzy storefronts. Although I expect us to enter one of the expensive boutiques, we enter a storefront with no name.
