Apex's POV

I tense as I hear my dad’s angry voice. However, I warmly smile at a confused Kallisto, hoping she believes nothing is wrong.

"Apex!" Dad barks, hitting the door again.

"Is your father mad that you eloped too?" she asks, looking at the door.

"Father," I hiss, "quit hitting the d*mn door. I will be with you in a minute."
