I race home to the Maldonado house, wanting to cry. Apex has a Luna. What will happen to me now? I was content to be Apex's Luna until I could figure out how to become a female Alpha.

Beta Throne walks to his office, looking at papers. He's an older man with tufts of white hair on his bald head. Throne whips his wire framed glasses off, looking at me.
