Apex and I stare at each other in confusion.

He shakes his head, looking astonished. Using the mind link, he tells me, "That's not going to happen."

"What's going on, Apex?" I silently ask. "Is that even possible?"

Apex shakes his head.  

"No." Rowena charges further into the bedroom, wagging her index finger at us. "You cannot talk to each other like that. It's unfair to me."
