SELENE'S POV

My breath paused, only for a brief moment. The wind whistled through the trees.

I crouched properly behind the tree, heart pounding as I strained my ears to hear their conversation.

“You seem happy tonight.” Elder Lucas grinned, pulling him into a hug.

“Why wouldn't I be? I am fully back and no one suspects a thing.” Alec said, disengaging from the hug. “I almost thought that Selene would find out but I guess she's just dumb.”
