Later that afternoon, we emerged from our hiding place in the underground, where we shield ourselves from the last night attack. As we stepped out, my heart sank at the sight that greeted us, the lifeless bodies of our pack members lay scattered across the ground, their necks bearing the telltale marks of vampire bites. The stench of death hung heavy in the air as the survivors of our once proud pack gathered the bodies, preparing to lay them to rest.
