Just then, the alpha king, my supposed husband's phone rang as he tried to ignore it. It rang again before he finally picked up. His expression was filled with excitement.

"Hey, my friend, Garrett," he exclaimed into the phone, happy to talk with him. My heart sank as he referred to the caller as Garrett. I couldn't help but feel a twinge of jealousy as I listened to them exchange pleasantries about how long they hadn't spoken and Garrett asking about his wife and son.
