Chloe’s POV

I woke up in the morning feeling better and calmer. Not refreshed, not healed, just different. My eyes were swollen, my chest still felt heavy, but at least the crushing weight that I felt on me last night had eased a little. Maybe it was the crying, or maybe it was Tyler sitting there, staring at me as I ate, not demanding anything from me. Or maybe it was the simple fact that for the first time in a long time, I wasn’t pretending I was fine or pretending to be anyone.
