The celebrations in the castle ballroom lasted almost the whole night as I carried Igor and Viktor back to the chambers where they were so wasted. Gleb had already blacked out and Vidam was already on the flight back to New York. 

I went back to the ballroom and the hairs at the back of my head stood out. Standing by the centre of the room was Bertha holding Irina by the throat.
