“Sorry, we didn’t know you were there,” Lena says quickly, her voice trembling just a little.

I let out a smirk, one that doesn’t quite reach my eyes. “Oh, don’t mind me,” I say smoothly, folding my arms as I step further into the room. “Continue your conversation. I’ll pretend I wasn’t here. I just want to hear the rest of that gist you were so eager to share.”
