I walked back into my office, still replaying what had just happened. The silence in the room felt heavier than usual, but my thoughts were louder than ever.

I didn’t know what exactly pushed me to act the way I did earlier maybe it was what Grandpa said, or maybe it was something deeper, something I wasn’t ready to name yet. All I knew was that I liked how she stood by me today.
