A barrage of advice hit Patch and Dirge as they hesitated by the wooden garden gate painted blue, with a rich leafy arbor beyond it leading to the Chalices’ front door.

Dane said, “Make sure you tidy up after yourself.”

Azandra added, “Help out around the house.”

Taking time out from running down poachers, Jiro chimed in. “Let the Chalices talk at dinner.”

Kyon contributed, “Mr. Chalice has such great stories.”
