Dirge POV

The sun rose over the palace rooftops and spires as Dirge stood on the balcony, watching the Orcs flit around on flying machines. They called them “gliders.” A pair of mechanical wings flapped while one Orc in an attached basket fed the steam engine and another one pedaled upfront. Somehow, the pedals connected to the steam engine, which powered the wings.
