I ran. Around the track. Around the neighborhood. On the treadmill. Everywhere my feet could pound the memory of Ryan's words to me into the ground.

How dare he? He didn't know me. He had no right to imply I was a money-grubbing whore. It had hurt, like teeth ripping right through my heart, especially since I'd started to like him.

Not anymore. That was done and over with, and now I had a date with Derek this coming Saturday.
