Vionessa threw away her cellphone after hearing from the person on the other end. “How can you tell me you didn't find anything?“ she yelled in frustration. “I have to find that person; that person is a threat to my family. I have to find out who it was!“ She screamed. The door opened, and Ravina walked in.“You look pale, Nessa.” She said and took a seat. Vionessa hissed and took her seat too. “I just talked to my private investigator.” She said hurriedly. Ravina nodded.

“I see he didn't bring good news.” She said calmly.

“Have you met the maid?“ Vionessa suddenly asked. Ravina was taken aback by the question, but she still answered. “Yes, I met Valeria.” She replied

“Well?”

“Well, I think you are being paranoid; Valeria seems like a good kid ”.

“She looks like someone that can't even hurt a fly.” Ravina said with a smile that made Vionessa uncomfortable. She shook her head.

“I still don't think it's a coincidence that my family was assassinated a few days after she started working here.” Vionessa says with her brows furrowed tightly.

Something occurred to her, and she smiled.

“I was thinking of throwing you a welcome party.” She said with a smile on her face. Ravina raised a brow. Vionessa had a lot on her plate, and a party should be the last thing on her mind right now. Ravina discovered something and chuckled.

“You want to use the party for publicity.” She said firmly. Vionessa nodded.

“After what happened during the annual gala, I know people might be having ideas ”.

“They might think that the Ravenmoors are becoming weak, and I want to prove them wrong.” She said firmly. Ravina nodded.

“The party will be wonderful!“ she said, and Ravina chuckled. “Ok then, I'll go shopping.” Ravina said and left.She stopped at the staff quarters and asked for Valeria. “Hi, ma'am.” Valeria greeted.

“Oh please, spare me the formalities ”.

“I was thinking of going shopping. I'm bringing Selena, and I want to bring you too".

Valeria raised a brow. “Bring me?“ “Why?“ Ravina scoffed. “Because I need company ” “Well, you just said that Ma'am Selena is coming with you.” Valeria said.

“And so?” “I want you to come with me, and I won't take no for an answer, and like they say, the more the merrier ”.

Valeria frowned. “It's an order, young lady.” Ravina said with a stern look. Valeria sighed and followed her.

On their way to the mall…. “Oh, I wish you could come to the party as a guest!“ Selena said with excitement twinkling in her eyes. She has never been a social butterfly; she was always closed off and didn't want to hang out with girls her age. But surprisingly, she wants to be close to Valeria.

“That's a great idea!“ Ravina chipped in. “No, no, I can't go to the party as a guest; I'm supposed to go there to work!“ Valeria said and shook her head. Selena and Ravina frowned.

“Can you quit being such a spoilsport?” “You are coming to the party as my guest , Valeria; take tomorrow as your day off!” Ravina ordered. Selena squealed joyfully. Valeria pinched the bridge of her nose. She recently just met these women, and they were acting as if they've known her from birth.

Soon they arrived at the mall, and Ravina and Selena started shopping like crazy. The mall was at the center of the city, a place that only the rich can afford. Valeria spotted two famous TV stars in the mall, and she wondered,

“How rich are the Ravenmoors?“

Ravina picked different dresses, and each time she asked for Valeria and Selena's opinion. Valeria thought shopping was boring, but with these two women, she herself was having a lot of fun.

After picking out different clothes, shoes, a bag, and accessories, Ravina picked out a long black dress. It was indeed a masterpiece.

The dress was made with black satin, and the corset was designed with beautiful silver stones that ran through the low-cut neck. Valeria noticed something and frowned. “Ma'am, I don't think it's in your size.” She said to Raven.

“I know, it's for you.” Ravina replied. Ravina furrowed her brows tightly. “You'll be wearing this to the party.” Ravina said proudly and tossed the dress to Valeria. Valeria shook her head.

“No, ma, I can't accept this; you just met me, and you're giving me a dress that is worth a fortune!“ Valeria said, refusing to accept the dress.

“Do you want me to complain to your boss?” “I know she doesn't like you that much.” Ravina said with a mischievous smile on her face. Valeria cursed inwardly.

She picked the dress and changed into it. Truth be told, Valeria had the body of a goddess. And this dress just enhanced those curves perfectly.

Later that day…. Valeria came back home tired. She tried to argue with Ravina, telling her she couldn't accept the dress. But then again, Ravina came up with something else to make her accept it. In the guest room, Ravina was unpacking her stuff with a smile on her face when Vionessa barged in. “What's this that I'm hearing?“

“You invited Valeria to the party?“ Vionessa asked with a deep frown on her face. Ravina nodded.

“Is that a problem?“ she asked.

“Vina, a mere maid, not just any maid—the one I don't like.” Vionessa said.

“Well, that “mere maid” is my guest tomorrow, and she is a nice kid. I don't see any reason why you dislike her.” Ravina said casually. Vionessa's brows shot up. Valeria was surely quick to win over Dorian and Selena, but Ravina?

Vionessa never expected Valeria to win over Ravina that easily. She slammed the door angrily and left the room.

On the other side of the mansion…

Valeria opened the door to her room and saw Luciano and Arthur sitting on her bed. She sighed. They noticed the bags in her hands, and she tossed them to both of them. Arthur and Luciano opened the bags and frowned. “Those are the things the old hag's friend bought for me ”.

“She wants me to go to the party tomorrow as her “special guest ”.

Valeria said and fell into the bed. She was obviously terrified of going to the Ravenmoors party, but the twins were thrilled.

“Do you know what this means, Val?“ Arthur asked.

“That I'm going to die of disgust tomorrow?“

Valeria asked.

“No, it means that we will get what we want ”.

“Just like everyone that you have met in your life, Ravina likes you".

“This means that you can get close to her and uncover all the skeletons in the cupboards!“
