It was relieving to know that I had someone like Ralph.

After we had mourned and buried our dead, Ralph made sure the coast was clear before we got down the hill.

There was no use staying up the hill because it would be sore torture to our hearts, and also danger of exposure be as the enemy was able to locate me up there.
