“The war has reached us, Alpha.”

The words hit like a blade to the chest… not because I wasn’t ready, but because once spoken, there was no turning back. No more waiting. No more planning. No more pretending the night might pass quietly.

I was already moving before the guard finished speaking.

My boots struck stone as I turned sharply, my gaze locking with Alexis’s.

“Let’s go,” I said.
