The moment Lucifer shouted Three, we pulled off the gates and sprinted into the forest in a flash.

Lucifer’s hand locked around mine, pulling me through the trees as the soldiers charged after us, their shouts tearing through the darkness.

“Faster!” he barked, his voice tinged with urgency.
