The punch connected before I even had time to think. 

I watched as Asher’s jaw snapped to the side with a sickening crack.

The sudden silence that followed was deafening.

The room froze; Alphas and servants moving around the room, all staring in disbelief.

For a heartbeat, I didn’t register anything beyond the pounding of my own heartbeat and the rush of adrenaline coursing through my veins.
