Rory stepped into Kaelan Stone's office, feeling a mix of excitement and nerves; she was new and didn't know anything about the company. The CEO's piercing blue eyes met hers, as a spine ran through her his chiseled features commanding attention. "Welcome, Rory," he said, his firm handshake a testament to his confidence.

“Thank you sir” Rory replied. Kaelan's eyes seemed to be roaming through her face as he stared at her until he said. “have we met before apart from now?” He asked.

“I.. don't think so” Rory stammered.

“Yes we have. I remember you being the order lady with excitement the other day while you bumped into me, am I right?” Kaelan asked.

“Yes, you're actually correct. Well I'm truly sorry for my mistakes. I really didn't mean to hit you, I was just happy that I could pass the interview” Rory replied.

“Oh I see, it was the interview that made you so Happy wow, but you have to mind your manners in public no matter how your emotions are you still need to control yourself. But why were you trying to ignore it? Like you're trying to make me a list” Kaelan said.

“I'm actually sorry please, I was ignorant of my manners please could we just leave that part and focus on what we are here for like I said earlier to you I'm truly sorry” Rory said her voice with anticipation.

“Okay let's get into business. So tell me what are your qualifications in this apartment like I mean” he paused. “Okay let's start from this, have you worked in a company before?” Kaelan asked.

“Emm, not at all but I have qualifications in this business if only you could give me a chance. There is always a first time in everything and I hope this will be my first time. I just need the opportunity to work here as one of the staff” Rory said.

“That's only if you are qualified that you can get the chance to gain access to work in this company. There is a vacant role left but we are looking to hire a committed person for this job, I hope you could work with the terms?” Kaelan asked.

“Yes sir” Rory nodded in agreement.

“Okay well with the files I am looking into here which is yours I could see your name as Aurora Rory” Kaelan said.

“Yes I'm the one” Rory replied.

“Okay then you have gotten the job. And you should know that you are supposed to start right away but due to it being your first time I would have to give you time till tomorrow to get ready for your new job. First of all your appearance is important, you wouldn't expect me to tolerate any indecent look. Secondly, your mindset, you have to work with the brain and not the mouth. I am a man of my words and I don't give threats. I work with action, believe my words, anytime I say I would do something. Thirdly, dedication and commitment. You have to dedicate yourself to this company and put in all the labour you could provide for it. I look forward to seeing you at work tomorrow. I hope your first day brings you a better promotion” Kaelan said.

“With all that you listed I would put them to work and make a perfection of it. I would be more consistent than ever and as you said dedication, that is my main aim in this company. I would work with you with a full mindset and have everything you can control,” Rory said.

“Okay, I will be waiting to see you at work tomorrow. I would write an upfront check to you when I see your potential tomorrow at work. You can leave now and go get ready for your new home” Kaelan said.

As they discussed her role, Rory sensed an underlying intensity, but Kaelan's professionalism remained unwavering.

She left the meeting with a clear understanding of her responsibilities, but couldn't shake the feeling that Kaelan Stone was a man who demanded nothing but perfection. She came outside smiling as she went out of the office moving towards Elijah. “I've got it,” she said, her voice unwavering.

“Wow, I know you are the right one for this job. Now I can rest at least you have made it and achieved your goals,” Elijah said.

“At first I couldn't trust you but right now you are the only one I trust in my life. You know, while I was somewhat concerned with my aunt I had no other option than to live in doubt with you, but with your actions and all that you have done for me to get to this point, there is no doubt that you are truly a good person” Rory said.

“I know how it feels like not to trust anyone but you can still live that way. It actually helps okay. I think from here we would have to fade bye to each other” Elijah said.

“What do you mean? Like where are you going? I thought you lived around” Rory asked.

“Like I said before I am an agent, and I came around Manhattan just to help you get into this company because you stated you needed help financially so I had to come help you, but right now I can see you are such a strong woman and living you to stand wouldn't be an issue. I think I have to go okay. Just give me a warm hug” Elijah said. They both came close to each other hugging tightly feeling the warmth within each other.

“I can't wait to see you again, you are really a God sent to me, sometime I can share the favours to you back” Rory said.

“Nevermind sharing the favour just focus more on yourself it would be the only thing you would have to give me that I would be pleased with” Elijah said from the shadows as a ride came and took him away.
