First Meeting*

First Meeting*

Rory's first day at the stone Enterprise was a call of peace and joy; she used the upfront which was paid into her account to clear some of the dept's which were up against her. And now she was a little but Free with herself. She had come earlier than all the workers in the company as she waited outside for her boss Kaelan because she was the Secretary of the company. “Hey, you seemed to have been waiting here for a long time. I saw you from afar while I was heading here,” Kaelan said as he stepped out of the car.

“Yes I have been here one hour before now I was standing here waiting for you to come around” Rory replied.

“You came too early. Did you even get to rest for six hours?" Kaelan asked.

“I had to sacrifice some things to get what I wanted, so I had to sacrifice my rest hours too. And I did it because you stated punctuality while tutoring me about the company's terms, so I had to keep every rule in order not to cause any mistake for myself” Rory said.

“I appreciate the commitment but next time you come at the exact time so you wouldn't have to sleep off while working” Kaelan said.

“Don't worry about me, I can take care of myself, I really want to make a better version of myself with this work, so I need to get every hard work I need” Rory said.

“Okay, then do as you wish. So I think there would be a conference meeting involving all the staff in the company. I think your work has already begun. I require you to get something written down. I would as well introduce you to all the workers so you could know them by their names while you all work together” Kaelan said.

“Okay, wow, but I haven't even been given the previous file which I would use to get through all the past meetings which the company has made with my absence” Rory said.

“That wouldn't be a problem because I would show you to your office after now we both would be heading there presently” Kaelan said.

“Wow, I can't wait to get in there," Rory said.

“But first I think we will finish with the meeting because other staff might be waiting for me at the conference. Let's get there first before your office,” Kaelan said as they both went towards the conference room.

Rory took her seat in the conference room, surrounded by Stone Enterprise's top executives. Kaelan outlined the agenda, his authority evident in the room's silence. “You all know that we have something at hand which is the project against the Mylène holdings, we all have to work together to get to the top, you can State a challenge which any individual is having with the company” he said.

One of the staff stood up, he had gray hair and with his appearance, he was already in his early fifties. “I have something which I would like to contribute to the project, I think we are lacking behind with some staff members which is the Secretary position, and we need one with immediate effect” he said and sat down.

“Sorry, mind my manners about that. One of us here has stated that same challenge and I have gotten into it and I think we wouldn't be complaining about that anymore. Some of you would be asking who she is” he said, pointing directly to Rory. “Well she is the new secretary of this company, she is Aurora Rory,” Kaelan said.

Just as the discussion heated up, the door burst open, and Kade Stone strode in, his presence electrifying the atmosphere. “Westfield,” he said, his single word sparking intense interest. Kaelan looked at his brothers in surprise with the way he came into the conference room and what he meant by the name Westfield.

“I'm sorry if I had interrupted anything, but I think I had to make that correction before you keep making the same mistake, brother,” Kade said, his voice low and menacing.

“What are you here for? And why are you acting weird? If you have anything to discuss with me, I think it should wait okay as you can see, I'm in a serious meeting. You of all people should know how I take this company serious” Kaelan said.

“I actually admire your hard work and the way you cherish this company, but there is something about your new worker which you need to know, I mean which you have to know, before you keep making the same mistake” Kade said.

“Anything about her can wait. I would meet you shortly in my office please, for once, allow me to make decisions” Kaelan said. Kade left the conference room, leaving other staff in curiosity about Rory. Meanwhile, as the conversation was going with the brothers Rory watched them closely, sensing that there were more problems than the one right now. “I think we should end this meeting for now. I would call you all the next time we have any other thing to discuss. Like I have always been telling you all we need your dedication in the company” Kaelan said and followed his brothers to the office. While other staff looked at Rory in eagerness, whispering to each other about her.

Rory, who could sense the rivalry in the staff's faces, knew that she had more challenges to face, but she had to stay strong and never quit the job.

Rory's eyes met Kade's, and she felt an unpredictable jolt. “What does he really want with me? And why is he here? Who might have given him the real information about me?” Rory muttered.

What was Westfield, and why did Kade's arrival seem to shift the room's dynamics? The air was charged with anticipation, and Rory was drawn in.
