Kade's presence seemed to linger in the office, and Rory found herself glancing around, half-expecting to see him.
Suddenly, he appeared beside her, his smile disarming. Rory made a move to leave the office immediately because she was avoiding any conversation between the both of them. “It's obvious you would rather not bite, you actually have to, so you could hear my side of the story,” Kade said.
“You don't know me from anywhere, so I advise you to avoid me. Okay I'm just a worker, and I'm here to put effort in working with the Stone Enterprise. Please don't make her uncomfortable for me” Rory said.
“You are the one getting it all wrong,” Kade continued. “I have something to say to you, and it's important you need to know about it,” Kade said.
“I have nothing to do with your silky conversation,” Rory sneered.
“You have everything to do with it because I know about your father,” Kade yelled. His words lingered a curiosity in the air, and Rory had to put more interest in the conversation.
“What do you know about him? Tell me?" Rory demanded.
“Let's discuss Westfield,” he said, his eyes sparkling with intensity. Rory hesitated, recalling Kaelan's warning, but Kade's charisma was persuasive.
“What do you want?” Rory asked.
“I want nothing from you but trust me on this I'm of no harm okay I'm just here to speak with you like adults,” Kade said.
“How do you expect me to trust you? The thing so confusing to me is how you knew about my identity? I need an explanation for that” Rory said, demanding.
“I'm one of the stone family and I wouldn't like it if you sound so disrespectful to me, you have to watch your manners” Kade said.
“I was respectful a while ago but it was obvious you destroyed it, and now I'm being very aggressive towards you despite you being anything to the stone family,” Rory said.
“Okay, I did understand you, but I think this doesn't call for us to talk weird. Just have your seat," Kade said. She sat down, waiting for Kade to talk to her.
“Okay, what is your first question?” Kade asked.
“How did you know about me?” Rory asked.
“I knew from the start because I was the one who instructed Elijah to be your agent, and he told me everything I needed to know. With the information, he gave me, I had to put in efforts in getting into search for the real you. So I found out that to is the daughter of the former co-director of the stone Enterprise, the one who committed suicide” Kade said.
“And now that you have all the information about me, what are you going to do with it? Because it's actually useless to you” Rory said.
“Kaelan would have sacked you out of the company only if he didn't have his words. He knew that you might be in the press after you were sacked. The real truth is that he is avoiding bringing up the dead case about how your father was being sacked. You know that it would cause a hint of pollution around the stone Enterprise” Kade said.
“Yes, he said something like that to me, but how do I help him? Because he
said it would only be calm if only I accepted to work with him, so how would that happen” Rory said.
As they walked to a meeting room, she felt drawn into his world. What was Kade's true purpose, and why did he seem so invested? Rory's doubts warred with her growing fascination, and she wondered if she'd be able to resist Kade's pull. Her instincts screamed caution.
“I think the best way is for you to live together with us,” Kade said. Immediately after his words, Kaelan walked into the office. “That's impossible," he said.
“Am so rejecting it also I can't live with you in the family, like what would be my role” Rory said.
“Kaelan you have no choice unless you want it to go the wrong way. You have to take her in as your fiancée. I know it's hard for you to accept, but you actually have to do it for the safety of the stone Enterprise” Kade said.
“I know I would do anything beyond my power to save the company, but I can't do this one, what are you even thinking when you made this decision? Even if I accept, what about her? Do you even ask her if she would work with it” Kaelan said.
“You both have some differences, I get it, but this is not the right time for they have to work together and avoid the press,” Kade said.
Both Rory and Kaelan stared at each other. They knew the rivalry between them was common and that his fiancée was far from what she expected. “Are you going to live with us like he said?” Kaelan asked, breaking the silence.
“I'd, it's important to you and I actually don't want this company to fold because I really need the money for my salary. I think I would accept it,” Rory said.
“But if you are going to live with me, there would be absolutely no romance between the both of us,” Kaelan sneered.
“You are just being strict, when the time comes for that I don't think you would be able to control your feelings for whoever it would be. Just try controlling your ruthless manners at times,” Rory said.
“That sounded so disrespectful here. You should know something, despite you are going to live with me as a fiancée you should know it's just a fake relationship which will be breaking soon” Kaelan said.
Rory accepted to live with the stone family to cover up for the company; she has to live with Kaelan's terms, or would her ruthless manners make the situation worse for the family?
