“We need to get him to our room in the tribe house. We can’t stay here any longer! He hasn’t even met his own children yet!” I say quickly, grabbing Ryan’s hand and trying to pull him up and towards the door.

Ryan stumbles out of bed, Glenda catching his arm steadying him so he doesn’t fall.

“Raya,” Ryan groans, grabbing the bed rail, “please, slow down. I’m still weak.”

He takes deep gasps of breath, his entire face going pale with beads of sweat ...
