I had expected it.
He had seen me. Of course, he wanted to speak with me privately.
This was either going to be a professional courtesy or a disaster waiting to happen.
“Thank you, Mrs. LeVaughn.”
She gave me a curt nod and walked off. I stood frozen for a moment, staring at the door of my new office.
I could duck inside. Pretend I didn't hear her.
But there was no escaping this.
He was going to be around a lot.
I set the box down on my table, smoothed my skirt and headed to the executive floor, where his office was.
The elevator seemed to take forever to reach the floor.
When I reached Petyr's office, the door was slightly ajar.
I knocked lightly and waited.
“Come in.”
I pushed the door open and stepped into the massive, sleek office.
He sat behind a huge mahogany table, his suit jacket off. His tie was loosened and his sleeves were rolled up.
I bit my lip.
The last time I saw him was at the club.
He looked up at me.
“Miss Bennett.” His tone was neutral. Professional. “ Please sit.”
I was disappointed. I missed his yearning.
I took the chair across this desk and perched on it like I was ready to go any second.
The silence stretched as he studied me. Being under his scrutiny made me nervous.
I wondered if he could hear my pulse hammering.
“Sirena.”
His tone was filled with yearning now and despite myself, my lips curved in a smile.
I should not be enjoying this.
I should be resisting him.
Pushing him away.
But there was something about it all. Hearing his longing in his voice turned me on.
“I didn't expect to see you here.”
“I could say the same about you. I fuck a man once and suddenly he's everywhere. Are you following me?”
“Following you?” He leaned forward, elbows resting on the desk. “Careful. You're making it sound like I can't stay away.”
Between his low tone and the way he looked at me, I was unravelling. Heat pooled at my core.
No. This was not the time.
“Maybe you can't. You didn't mention you were…this.”
I gestured vaguely at the office, the title, the whole fact that he was my boss.
“I don’t make a habit of discussing my job with strangers at bars. Besides, you were more interested in other things than talking.”
As he spoke, he rose from his seat and moved towards the mini bar.
He picked a whiskey and two glasses.
“I'm not supposed to drink on the job.”
“And who made those rules?” His words hung in the air like a challenge.
He poured some into a glass.
“Fine. ” I rose from the chair and crossed the room to the mini bar where he stood. I snatched the bottle from his hand. “ If we're breaking rules, we might as well do it properly.”
Petyr's brows lifted as I brought the bottle to my lips and took a swig. The whiskey hit my tongue with a sharp burn.
It burned my throat and my eyes watered. Petyr watched me.
I swallowed hard, forcing myself to maintain a straight face as I lowered the bottle.
“Impressive.” He murmured, still watching me, “I didn't think you had that in you.”
I handed the bottle to him, “There’s a lot you don't know about me, Mr. Sterling.”
“You're so full of surprises, you know that? Layers and layers of it. I expect one thing and I get another.” He stepped closer, closing the distance between us. I could feel the heat of his body.
“I'll take that as a compliment.” I said, smirking.
Out of nowhere, Petyr’s hands found my waist, strong and sure. In one strong move, he lifted me off the ground.
A gasp escaped my lips as he carried me across the office, my hands instinctively wrapping around his shoulders for balance.
He placed me on the edge of his desk, the cold wood shocking my thighs.
“Petyr…” My words caught in my throat as he stepped forward, positioning himself between my legs.
He pushed my legs apart, his hands resting on my waist. My skirt rode up and bunched midthigh.
The exposure sent a jolt through me and I could feel myself getting more moist.
I swallowed, “What are you doing?”
I knew exactly what he was doing. He was driving me crazy.
My heart was beating wildly. I could not decide whether I wanted to push him away or pull him closer.
His hands stayed firm on my waist and the intensity of his eyes made it impossible for me to look away.
“Testing a theory,” His thumbs traced slow circles on my waist. I could feel the warmth of his touch despite my layers of clothing.
His other hand began roaming. He rubbed my legs, my inner thigh and up until I could feel the warmth of his fingers on my crotch.
“Petyr, anyone could see us.” I said, gasping. I placed my fingers on his and tried to push his hand away, “We shouldn't be doing this. I don't want this.”
“But here you are. Sitting on my desk, barely resisting.”
My skirt was dangerously high now. His eyes flicked down to my crotch for a moment. He kissed my neck as a finger pushed my thong to the side and others slid in.
I gasped and my hips bucked as he slid a second finger in.
“Petyr…”
He silenced me with a kiss, slow at first and it became more passionate. I moaned as our tongue wrestled and his fingers pumped in and out of me.
I placed my hand on his chest and moved my hips back and forth against his fingers.
My body began to shake and I wanted to scream but I couldn't. The other executives would hear.
I pulled him closer and groaned into his chest as a mind-blowing orgasm rippled through my body.
With my pussy still pulsing, he pulled his slick fingers out of me and put them in his mouth. Licking it up like it was chocolate.
My eyes widened as I watched him.
“You know this isn't right.” I said as I pulled down my skirt. Now I had orgasmed and gotten my senses back, I felt embarrassed.
“I don't care about what's right.”
The way I was so easy for him hurt my chest.
Pushing him away slightly, I got off the table and pulled down my skirt.
“This can't continue. I'm your employee. You're my dad's best friend. Everything about it is wrong.”
He looked at me like I had gone crazy. A minute ago I was legs apart moaning and now I was talking about it not being right.
“It’s all about perspective. Besides, you're making it damn hard to care about the consequences.”
I bit my lip, “Then I'll make it easy for you. I don't want this.”
“Your body doesn't seem to agree. The way it was responding to everything.”
He was right. He knew all the right ways to touch me. All the right ways to get her undone.
But this -what we were doing - was not safe.
“I’m resigning, Petyr. Expect my letter tomorrow morning.”
