I wake up on the couch in Vincent's office, my head pounding like someone's using it as a drum. The room spins for a second before settling, and I blink against the harsh light streaming through the windows.

"Easy." Vincent's voice comes from beside me. His hand finds mine, warm and steady. "You fainted."
