Logan's POV
By the time I left the Carter residence, my stomach was filled up and my heart was glad. Throughout dinner, Naomi maintained a stubborn personality, but that wasn't enough to deter my spirit. They all act that way, and with time, the walls they build come crashing down, and then they succumb to the feeling. I wasn't going to rush her, no not this one. I would bide my time and wait patiently.
Immediately I got into the car, my phone flashed on, on top of the dashboard where I had kept it earlier. A look at the screen told me it was Beta Eli who was calling.
“This is Alpha Logan.” I answered the phone with a tap and turned it to loudspeaker.
“Alpha? Where are you?” Eli asked immediately. “We're about to make a toast here.”
He was still at the party where I left him two hours earlier. I glanced at my wristwatch and realized it was only a few minutes to midnight. It was then that I realized how tired I was.
“I don't think I'll make it, Eli. Why don't you go ahead and fill in for me.” I suggested.
“Okay Alpha.” He replied obediently. “And if anyone asks of you?”
“Then you tell them that I was exhausted and decided to turn in early.”
“Okay Boss. Copy and out.” The line went dead.
I sighed. I still had work to take care of the following morning, so I had to sleep. The earlier, the better.
Soon enough, I entered the territory of the Silverclaw Pack, my pack, my home. I slowly brought the car to a stop in front of the house and then got out.
“You're home early, Alpha.” One of my servants said as he came closer. “I didn't imagine you'd be home this early.”
“Me neither.” I tossed him the car keys which he caught effortlessly. “I want you to warm up the car early tomorrow morning. I intend to leave for work as early as possible.”
“No problem, Alpha.” The Servant immediately moved to drive the car into the garage while I turned and made my way inside the house.
I craved sleep but got nothing. All I could think of, was the girl Naomi and nothing else.
Come on Logan… pull yourself together! I screamed within but my mind probably had other plans of it's one.
When I couldn't take it any longer, I got up and, in my pajamas, headed towards my minibar, where I poured myself a glass of wine and headed to the balcony.
Leaning on the railings, I sipped my wine, overlooking the pack before me and fantasizing about Naomi. The girl was like a parasite that had latched itself onto my brain and wouldn't let go. Each time I started thinking of something else, I would remember her face, those eyes, those lips and…
Damn.. You've got one heck of a challenge, Logan. I muttered to myself, swirling the wine glass I had. The girl's a wild one, you need to up your game if you want her. I told myself and then took another sip.

“Alpha? Alpha Logan?” The voice woke me up, bringing me back to reality even before I felt the person poke me.
I sat up immediately and realized it was Beta Eli.
“Eli.” I muttered, rubbing the sleep from my eyes. “For a second there you startled me. What time is it?”
“It's precisely a quarter past 8am, Alpha.”
His reply made me nearly jump in my seat. I looked around and realized immediately that daylight was streaming into a window of the study. Unable to sleep, I returned to my study, where sleep eventually caught up with me.
Cursing under my breath, I quickly got up and moved past Eli. “Ready the car! I need to be at work as early as possible to interview the new applicants.”
“The car is ready, everything has been readied.” Eli replied professionally.
I quickly dived into the bathroom for a quick shower. The rest of the morning was a frenzied blur of preparations for work. How could I oversleep on a day like this?! I knew clearly it wasn't because of last night's party! It was because I had deprived myself of sleep thinking about Naomi!
Moments later, Eli took the wheel and drove us with a reasonable speed, heading for the office building while I struggled to set up my necktie back seat.
After the 15-minute drive, we soon arrived at the office building with Eli slowly gliding the car into the gates.
My fashion empire, Spectra Style House, stood massively before us with its glasses mirroring the light of the morning sun.
I took a deep breath, tasting the air. A feeling of pride settled on me immediately. This was my world. This was my seat of power.
“Good day Alpha Logan.”
“Good morning, Alpha.”
Greetings from my employees who met me immediately. I walked into the lobby. I answered mostly with a wave of my hand and a small smile when I could help it.
Everyone moved with urgency and purpose, and I loved it that way. With the wheels of production running smoothly, everything was perfect, just perfect.
“Send in the first person.” I told my secretary as I hurried into my office.
Ever since my last Creative Director had retired, my company went into an internal crisis as I couldn't find anyone good enough to employ. I had employed a few people but had sacked them almost immediately when I realized that they weren't good enough. Since the position of the Creative Director was the most important, I was determined to interview the applicants myself so as to employ only the right person for the job.
One by one they came, each of them with their qualifications and stories to back them up but none of them fit into what I wanted. One by one, they left my office with no promise that I'd call them.
“Send in the next person, Judy!” I instructed my secretary over the intercom.
“That was all, Alpha.” Came the reply.
I sighed and leaned back in my chair. This was beginning to turn into an impossible task. I knew the competition was really fierce out there and I needed to find a Creative Director as soon as possible!
The door to my office opened and Judy walked in carrying a file in her hand.
“What's that?” I asked, doing nothing to hide the irritation in my voice.
“Someone you might consider.” Judy replied as she dropped the file on my desk.
With eager fingers I opened the file and then gasped at the first page…
