I hated field trips.

They were just school days with extra steps. More rules. More teachers pretending to be fun. More people acting like getting shoved onto a bus at seven in the morning was some kind of privilege.

Prescott High lined us up outside like we were about to be shipped off to war instead of a museum. Everyone was loud. Everyone was fake excited. Phones were already out even though we had not gone anywhere yet.

Joey loved this stuff.
