SERENA'S POV
Life took a bad turn for me living with my aunt. She was like the devil I saw despite the love of my father. He couldn't help because he was always busy with his work as one of the Alpha's messengers. I never believed that the hatred and maltreatment she showed me would ever stop, but all I knew was that I had to face it and survive. She would never let me make my own decisions and would always see me as a witch. She never called me by my exact name; all she could refer to me as was a witch.
One day I decided to gather courage and confront her about her weird behaviors towards me. Planning to talk things out with her and make amendments if she was willing to accept it. But as usual, she called me a witch and slapped me. “Never come to me again and talk to me about this ever in your entire life. You witch"—these” were the exact words she used on me.
I couldn't help it, but I shed tears like a baby. I couldn't believe that all this hatred could stop until one day when I met the Alpha. Not only that, but I mean him, Draven. He was so charming, and I couldn't stop staring at him until he passed past me. It was like I was drawn to him that I could never imagine at first. I didn't believe that we would be together until he came by himself and approached me. Our relationship was so serious that he had to take me as his Luna, his secret Luna, until he was taken as the Alpha. I loved him as much as he did. We had several sexual relationships together until the accident that happened, leading him to forget about me. The elders manipulated him and made him believe that I was just a hallucination.
I stopped for a second, but my story to Matera Elara was so sad, and she forced me to tell her all about what happened to me. “Tell me all that happened; I'm intrigued to know them all,” she said, and I had to continue.
My greatest pain with Draven started when I ate with us to confront him about the accident.
I stood at the edge of the packed wedding altar, my heart heavy with sorrow. Draven, my husband, stared at me like a stranger, his eyes cold and unrecognizable. Firstly, I walked towards him with a surge of smiles on my face, but the smiles washed off when I wanted to ask him about his health, and he denied me with no signs. “I'm pleased to have you back,” I said in an eager voice.
I was expecting a hug or smile from him, but he acted weird and nonchalant. “Who are you?” He asked. I thought it was a joke from him until it was already becoming serious.
“What do you mean, Draven? I am here to check on you because I was so happy when you heard that you are back on your feet. The accident you had was so painful, and I am so happy you are already there with me,” I said, my voice shivering, expecting what I'm exactly here for.
“Well I… I obviously appreciate you coming to see me, but I can't actually remember the connection between the both of us, like, "Where did we even meet?” He asked.
I was so confused and ashamed of myself at the same time I couldn't believe what was going on and was short of words in how to confuse him that we made love to each other and I'm already with his child. “Are you doing this on purpose because you are beginning to make me feel like a nobody now? Are you actually serious about you not remembering me?” I asked.
“I wouldn't have been here with you if you wouldn't have been here to see me because of the accident,” he tried to finish his statement, but I interrupted mine.
“If what you are going to say wouldn't bring another lie, it would be best if you had to keep quiet because your words are really pissing me off right now,” I said.
I felt like a ghost, invisible and forgotten. The pack's whispers and murmurs filled the air, their faces a blur as my world crumbled around me. I tried to make him understand why he should understand me and know I'm with his baby until Celeste came in. “Don't you think your time with him is up and you should just go on with your miserable life?” she said.
“You are actually being very rude to me right now, and I wouldn't even appreciate it. You should mind the way you talk to me. Despite him acting nonchalant to me, you still are not entitled to talk over me, please,” I said in a hasty voice.
“Not anymore, Serena. Your time being bossy is over, and you have to leave the life that you are being introduced to. Okay, you should just try to get the fact that you are pissing us off,” Celeste said, sounding rude.
“I know you can be crumby at times, but I don't know you have already grown to be this greedy. Why should you of all people be this ruthless towards me? I thought you could help me get Draven to remember me, but here you are causing more problems to the one that is already intact,” I said. Draven, who watched the both of us exchange words together, seemed a lot more tied up and confused.
“What is going on here?” He shouted.
“She is the one making all the noise,” Celeste said, referring to me.
“With the conversation the both of you are having, it's obvious that you two already knew each other. But the thing here is that I'm unable to remember a thing that I really want to do. Can you just make me understand?” he said.
“You have nothing to understand, okay? All you have to do is rest because you are already working a lot just because of where she should just go so you can have your nap,” Celeste said.
“You have to leave my presence, and for causing this trauma and drama here involving a serious act of the Alpha, you would as well leave this pack and this wood; there is no more space for you here.” Draven gave orders, and I was forced by the guards beside him to leave the castle.
But even that wasn't enough to spark any memory or recognition in his eyes. Celeste, his ex-lover, stood beside him, a triumphant smile spreading across her face.
I was heavily pregnant, and the life inside me seemed to be the only thing that still connected me to Draven. But he wasn't even showing concern about me, let alone the baby I had for him. I thought of ways to get in contact with him again, but there was no order available. I still needed to tell him about the pregnancy, but the guards were all over me, and they left me in the woods and dumped me there.
“This is actually unfair. I don't deserve a life like this,” I said, referring to the head soldier.
“This is not my order but from the Alpha. You were asked not to be seen around this pack anymore. I am sorry I have to do this, but you should know the consequence of my actions if I disobey him. I just hope you find a better place to stay,” he said with a glimpse of remorse.
I felt a pang of pain and betrayal, knowing that I was being cast aside. The pack's dynamics were clear: I was no longer wanted. I took a deep breath, trying to gather the strength to walk away, to leave behind the life I once knew. I had to leave the pack sensing the woods. I knew this place wasn't good and was the most dangerous place to stay because of some rogues, but I had to still walk down until I met one.
“Get off me, please. I promise I am of no harm,” I said, my voice shivering as the rogue stared at me to strike.
