SERENA'S POV

He stared at me like he had met me somewhere else before. Now I had the chance to run, but it was obvious that he was faster than we. I looked around to my left and right, and there was a narrow path on both sides. My heart pounded my body, shaking with anticipation and fear all over me. I had no reason but to stay on the floor where he held me. And he was already in his half-wolf form. His claws held me down, and his fangs went wild and opened. He kept quiet, and I wasn't pleased with how he was cold to me, so I had to open up to him.

“We have been here for a fast few minutes now, and you are just being silent towards me. Why wouldn't you eat me up already?” I said it with a surge of courage. I knew my words to him might bring more anger and frustration to him, but I still had to voice out. Furthermore, I expected him to reply or say something to me, but he was quiet and nonchalant.

“What do you want? Why don't you say something or get off me already? Please, I have heard about a very hateful day already in all my life, and you acting this weird to me gives me the impression that this might be my last day already, so hurt. Do the job and let me be. I have nothing to give you because all that I had was taken from me,” I said, my voice low and shivering. I stammered to him with tiredness. I only wanted him to feel sorry for me, which worked slowly. Suddenly he was releasing his hands off me, and I had a plan to run once his claws were totally off entirely.

Immediately he left me. I made haste to run, but I was caught immediately by him again, and this time I had no other plans than to just obey him. “Okay, you've got me now. Just tell me what you want,” I said.

“I want nothing from you; you are the one who wants something from me, and you would want whatever you want from me if only you would ask nicely and you knew what you needed, but your aggressive world washed over you and wouldn't let you express your feelings; it would only give you the impression that you are good but you are not,” he said. I was so surprised to hear his voice. They were so menacing and smooth, and immediately after his words, he changed to his human form. For seconds I couldn't take my eyes off his face. I was so eager to touch him, but I couldn't because I didn't even know if it was some trick to get me killed. I couldn't just trust him that easily.

“What do you even know about me? Tell me what you know.” I asked if my voice repeatedly sounded the same. “Like I said earlier, I want nothing from you, but you are the one who wants from me, and my high is shelter from your pregnancy,” he said. I was so shocked to hear that come from him; it was obvious that he knew much about me. I was so curious to know more about what he knows about me, but I was so frightened to ask him questions. I didn't know how to retaliate, but I still had to stay steel.

“I actually don't talk too much, but I think after now you will be the one to do the talking when we get to a safer place because here isn't safe for both you and the baby; you need a place to stay until you go to bed,” he said, his voice low. He seemed good and kind, but I wasn't sure of him. I still needed to question him, but I knew that it would be a hard task for me to go through.

“And what makes you think that I would believe you?” I asked.

“I don't want you to believe me. I want you to believe in yourself; it's your decision to make. I would be leaving on your final decision. Are you going with me or stay here until another wolf comes to eat you up?” He asked.

“Do you even expect me to believe after the way you first approached me? You looked weird to me, and it seems like you have more to do with me than just helping me. I know I require help to get a safer shelter. I don't just want to make a bad decision with you because I'm terrified right now,” I said.

“I know how you feel right now, but I'm actually an exception to others. You should trust me. Okay, you have to come now so you wouldn't have to regret never following me,” he said.
