SERENA'S POV

I was overwhelmed and surprised to know that the person helping me was one of the loyal palace messengers to me and now became a rogue. I had to confront him about his actions, and I knew that there were a lot more explanations to what he had to say.

“What? Why are you even here? I thought you were no more.” I asked.

“Yes, that's what you think. I heard that the Alpha had a terrible accident and now has no clue about who you are to him. I know that you were pregnant for him, and that's why I want you to go to bed safer. It might sound weird to you, but all this while this was happening, I was watching from the shadows, sensing what might happen at the end, and here you are,” Kai said.

“I didn't even recognize you at all until now. I knew something was familiar about your appearance, but I couldn't recall where I last met you. That was why I couldn't say a word about you. As for the Alpha, he was the one who put me in this condition, and now I have to face it alone,” I said, my voice low.

“I know, but you don't have to blame him for everything because he was ignorant about him not to talk more of you being his secret Luna. I just hope things get better than expected,” Kai said.

“I know, which is why I left quietly when he asked me to. I know the people who manipulated him were Celeste, his ex-lover, and the elders; they are the ones who forced him to believe that all the moments we shared together were okay hallucinations, and I had no chance against them because they had already taken all that. I had left everything. Not only that, but I just hope he gets better some day,” I said.

“All this happened, and I know absolutely about every story of it. But what I'm yet to understand that always gives me concern is that it's about the accident because I can't even give a slice about what happened at that spot. I was there to save him, but then something struck me, but when I opened my eyes, I saw him no more. I was so distressed and concerned about him, which made me look around for him all over the woods, but I saw no one until the news came to me that he was safe in the palace. Likewise, I thought of going back home, but there was no chance for me. Likewise, I still have to arrange myself properly before going back there,” Kai explained.

“Well, I'm not going to decide anything for you, but I actually don't think that this is a good idea for you to make. So many people are actually taking his place as the Alpha, and there is no one he can trust with his intentions; he needs someone like you around. Magnus, Celeste, and the elders are not a good example of trust; they are the ones manipulating him. I needed to be there, but as you can see from the situation I'm in already, I can't go back there like this until I'm fully ready, I said.

“I understand you okay, but there is something I need to let you know. Everyone thinks I'm dead, but if I show up in a time they wouldn't expect, then I would be ready for all the challenges they would place against me. Right now I'm not ready for anything. I have to be ready for them so I wouldn't be their victim of doubts. I still require some time to be well prepared,” Kai replied.“Okay, what do you intend to do?” I asked.

“Right now I have nothing in mind to give, but I know with time that I will be good and able to go. But right now I should be more concerned with protecting you until you are done with this baby, okay?” Kai said. “I sincerely appreciate the fact you are doing to help me, and I hope I return the favor to you some days ahead,” I said.“Actually I'm not expecting anything from you, I don't intend to get any favors back from you. I'm only doing this because of the way you showed love to me when I was still at the palace, and this is my way of returning the good deeds; I would just protect you as Luna,” Kai said.

“But obviously I'm not Luna anymore,” I said.

“Despite you not being the Luna, I still have every right to obey your orders. I know that some day you will make your place back to where you have been wanting to be. I just hope Alpha Draven comes back to his senses and gets to know that you are with his child,” Kai said.

“Well about that I'm actually not so much concerned with what he has for me I don't even intend on getting anything from him at all. I just want him to get better for himself, even if Celeste wouldn't want it to happen because I know that she has been the one behind all this drama. I just hope one day her way catches up to her and there will be nowhere for her to run or hide anymore,” I said.

“I know she might be involved in all this, but come to think of it, the elders,” Kai said, bringing my concerns to him.

“Which of them?” I asked, my voice low and interested.

“High councilor Rovan? I always sense every expression of his whenever the Alpha calls him. I think he might have a deadly part to this that is happening to Alpha Draven,” Kai said. “How sure are you about this?” I asked.

“Not so sure about this hit; I know that there is more to him than just being an elder; he has eyes for the Alpha's position and would stop at nothing in getting it,” Kai said. His words put a part of my interest in me, making me know a few things about what was going to happen.

“Where are we?” I asked.

“Obviously it's a safe place where you would stay until you go to bed. I know you don't know that some wolves would be looking for you now because they caught your saint already, and you have to stay here as long as possible so you wouldn't be killed,” he said. “How, and am I sure that you aren't even one of them? What exactly makes you think I would fall for your pretty lies? I don't have to trust you immediately, but I would have to obey you once Mr. Rogue,” I said.

“And I'm not Mr. Rogue, I am Kai, and you know me,” he said, revealing his real self to me.
