GINGER:

Hu makes a stop at a restaurant, picking up some takeout for us before driving back to his apartment. It is just like old times, eating while watching a movie. Deep down, I pray everything will just remain rosy.

“You’ve been too quiet,” Hu says, pausing the big screen in front of us.

He closes the space between us, and I take the last bite on the plate before pushing it aside. He wipes off a stain on my lips as I chew, and when I swallow, I turn to face him.
