Chapter 10: The Betrayal

The city outside never slept, but inside Lucien’s penthouse, the world seemed to shrink to just Aiden and him. Yet the chaos of the outside had already reached them. Social media was ablaze with the video from the concert the fallen stage, the mysterious attack, and, most notably, Lucien’s lethal intervention. Fans screamed, speculated, and theorized. Headlines flashed across websites: “Idol Vampire Saves Rising Star?”

Aiden scrolled through posts, shivers running down his spine. Every “OMG” or “Is he even human?” reminded him just how exposed they were. “Lucien… they know,” he murmured, eyes wide.

Lucien didn’t look away from him, his crimson eyes blazing. “Let them know,” he said softly, voice low but commanding. “Let the world see. You are mine, and no one else will touch you.”

Aiden’s chest tightened at the words, heart hammering not just from fear, but from the heat radiating off Lucien. The bond pulsed stronger than ever, intertwining desire and obsession.

The room darkened as Lucien stepped closer, brushing Aiden’s hair back from his forehead. “You were reckless tonight,” he murmured, tracing his lips down Aiden’s neck. “I could have lost you.”

Aiden trembled. “Then don’t let me go,” he whispered, voice cracking with longing.

Lucien’s hands gripped his waist, lifting him effortlessly onto the bed. Every motion was purposeful, possessive, and charged with danger. Fangs grazed his collarbone, a sharp, delicious pinch that made Aiden arch instinctively. Heat spread through him, blood mingling with need, each pulse a reminder of the bond that tethered them inseparably.

“You belong to me,” Lucien growled, pressing closer. “And tonight… I’ll make sure you feel it.”

Aiden gasped, lost to the sensation as Lucien’s lips roamed, tracing bites and kisses that blurred the line between pleasure and pain. Their bodies pressed together, skin against skin, every brush of teeth or tongue sending shivers of lust and intoxication through both of them.

Hours passed in a haze of passion. Aiden felt every heartbeat, every rush of blood, every silent command Lucien sent through the bond. He was consumed, claimed, and alive in ways he had never imagined. Every moan, every tremor, every whispered name tied him closer to Lucien, blurring the boundary between their souls.

When it was over, both of them were breathless, tangled in sheets and sweat. Lucien hovered above him, lips brushing his temple, voice soft but heavy with promise. “No one will take you from me… I’ll fight anyone who tries.”

Aiden reached up, fingers tracing the sharp lines of Lucien’s jaw. “I… I don’t want anyone else.”

Lucien smiled faintly, almost tenderly, but the glint in his eyes warned of hunger still unsated. “Good. You’ll learn quickly, Aiden. Passion… obsession… hunger… It’s all part of the bond. And it will get stronger.”

Their moment of intimacy was interrupted by a sharp noise and a movement near the window. Lucien’s head snapped toward the sound, eyes narrowing into crimson slits. Shadows shifted outside, too deliberate to be random.

Aiden froze. “Who…?”

Lucien’s jaw tightened. “Someone… I thought I had dealt with.” His fingers grazed Aiden’s hair, holding him close. “But betrayal always finds a way.”

From the dark corner, a figure emerged a former ally Lucien had once trusted, now grinning with malicious intent. “Miss me?” the stranger hissed, voice dripping with venom.

Lucien’s body tensed like a coiled spring, every muscle ready to strike. “You’re dead,” he growled, moving between Aiden and the intruder.

The stranger laughed, a sharp, cruel sound. “Not yet. But soon. You’ve grown careless, Lucien. Letting the little pet sing on stage, showing your face… I’ve been watching.”

Aiden’s heart hammered, fear and adrenaline mixing with the remnants of desire. The bond throbbed violently, pulling him closer to Lucien, warning him of danger yet thrilling him in ways he couldn’t name.

Lucien’s hand brushed his cheek gently, then tightened around his wrist. “Stay behind me,” he whispered. “This ends now.”

The stranger lunged. Lucien moved like a shadow, precise and lethal. Fangs flashed, claws barely restrained, strikes calculated to kill without a second thought. Aiden watched, both terrified and fascinated, as Lucien became predator incarnate, his possessive rage manifest in every movement.

When the fight ended, the intruder lay unconscious, Lucien’s chest heaving, eyes ablaze with fury and desire. He pulled Aiden close, lips crashing onto his once more, claiming, marking, ensuring Aiden’s heartbeat was his alone.

“You see?” Lucien whispered against his mouth. “No one… no one will ever take you. Not now, not ever.”

Aiden, trembling but smiling faintly, whispered back, “Then I’m yours. Always.”
