I raised my head, slowly, to meet Ryker's sharp and cold glare as he stepped down from the stairs.

I looked to the side. Alpha Rheagor lay back on the seat, his nose flared, and his face twisted in anger.

“You have no right to counter my command,” he muttered.

Ryker stood before me, and the sleek, shiny tip of his shoe touched my palm on the floor. “Stand up,” he ordered, but I sat unmoving.
