Weston Family

For the first time in her life, Mrs Alicia, Zoey's mother, greeted her warmly as soon as she entered the family mansion.

“My daughter, how did it go? Hope it was successful?” She asked, her eyes scrutinizing Zoey's as if there was something important written on her.

Zoey pouted her lips and raised her head to look at the woman she called a mother standing in front of her, the same woman who forced her to do such a thing last night.

"Even if you're not my biological mother. Even if you aren't worth it I've always respected you, but can you really afford this title?"

“What?!” Mrs Alicia screamed. “How dare you talk to me in such manners? If the Weston family hadn't adopted you, you would have starved to death on the street long ago. You are now the daughter of the Weston family after we adopted you so take responsibility.” She fired angrily at Zoey.

Here she goes again, reminding her of how she picked her up from the street many years ago. If only she knows who her real parents are. Maybe they are dead or alive. She has no idea.

Zoey felt irritated by her words and just when she was about to say something, Zara walked in holding a cup of coffee in her hand.

"Don't you ever speak to my mother in such a manner again!" Zara yelled at her. "My family have been kind enough to take you in and look after you as their daughter. So you should be grateful and try to do something beneficial for the family. And besides, being able to be touched by someone from the King's family is a blessing and a big opportunity you haven't experienced before!”

Zoey gritted her teeth in anger as she stared at her sister who should be grateful to her for covering the shame she is about to bring to the family.

If she hadn't gone in place of her, the King's family would have been so disappointed that the daughter of the Weston family was unclean.

"Zara, aren't you the one engaged to Alpha Sebastian? But because you are not a virgin, and you are afraid that the King's family will find out, you used me to protect yourself."

Zoey raised a brow at her and a flash of small smile curved at the side of Zara's lips.

"And here you are saying such outrageous things to me after I helped your life. Don't you have any conscience at all?!"

Zara burst into a loud laughter that kept Zoey in confusion.

"Who is unclean?” Zara fired angrily. "To tell you the truth, do you know why I didn't want to go last night?” She laughed mockingly, her eyes pinned on the amused Zoey.

She continues, ”It's because I know that the people always arranged by the King family are not influential or young, maybe someone like a gardener, bodyguard, and it's not a dream for me to be touched by a gardener!”

Zoey froze in anger and worry.

She never knew that the people she called family could be this wicked to her.

She thought that she had to replace Zara because her body was not clean, but it turned out that she didn't want to commit herself to the poor.

But deep down she knew Zara wasn't clean. She had seen her bring countless men to the house and at times she did hear moans from her room whenever she was with them alone but that's the least of her problems now.

Zara chuckles lightly, her arms folded around her chest, She watches Zoey with a smirk and she feels no sentiment for her action.

"If it were him, Alpha Sebastian, how could I not be willing to be touched by the handsome powerful man."

"Bitch! How could you do that to me?” Zoey growled and rushed toward Zara in her anger but her mother was quick to stop her.

"Oh, are you disappointed that it was not the Alpha?" Her mother chuckled, her eyes all over Zoey.

"Wait, could it be that you really want to be touched by your future brother-in-law? What a vicious woman! You are a disappointment.” She spits out hatefully at Zoey.

Zoey was amused by their allegations. She has never had the wish to be with Alpha Sebastian although he is everyone's dream man.

Even when she saw him this morning, she was taken aback by his perfect features.

There were still some little dotted red hickey marks on Zoey's neck and Zara said mockingly when she spotted it.

"I can see that it was quite intense and interesting to have sex with that low-class man last night, and he pretended to be good. Look at you, It's just a pity that you end up with a low-class person." She said, laughing at Zoey.

When she was asked to do such a thing by her mother she was uneasy and disgusted, but when she kept begging her she had no choice but to agree and now it turned out she was only used for something worse.

The actions of the people she called family made her even more disgusted.

The Weston and the King's family seemed to have some grudge, and she is now used as the sacrifice.

Her sister and mother only lied to her.

"Why are you looking at me in such manners? Haven't you been eating and drinking in my house for so long? What's wrong with your body? Are you already unclean before last night?”

Zara barked at her.

Zoey clenched her hands tightly beside her, and the veins on the back of her hands were exposed turning pure white.

Mrs. Alicia turned to face her daughter.

"Zara, don't say such words to her, it was Zoey who helped you. Even if you don't appreciate her, you shouldn't treat her with such an attitude.” Her mother scolds her.

Zoey released her clenched fist, then she said with a blank face, "I'm off to my room.” She said and ran upstairs.

"Zoey, I have someone make soup for you, come down and drink something to nourish your body later. You must be tired." Her mother yelled after her as she ran upstairs in tears.

"Mom, you shouldn't be nice to her because she isn't my biological sister anyway." Zara hissed.

"Shut up Zara!” Her mother glared at her, "If she tells the King's family what happened last night and that she is a substitute for you, your marriage would be over."

"Yes mother, you are right. I have to pretend to be nice to her.” Zara smiled to herself.

Zoey rushed inside her room, her face tear-stained. She locked the door immediately after she entered and she threw herself heavily on the bed.

Many years ago, when Zara was still a child she was weak and sickly, so the Weston family thought about adopting another daughter. So she was adopted by the Weston family when she was a child, and the Weston family raised her together with their daughter and she has always been grateful to the Weston family.

Zara has always been rude to her since she was a child because she is afraid that Zoey will take her place.

Weston family, I've paid you off for taking me in. She wept bitterly.

Yesterday, her mother came begging her that if Zara's body isn't pure, and the King family finds out, the marriage between Sebastian and Zara will definitely be canceled.

Zoey couldn't refuse her mother's pleading when she came crying and begging, even if she gave out her virginity, it would be regarded as a repayment for the kindness of the Weston family in bringing her up.

She has already paid the price.

But she never thought that her mother's main purpose was for her to replace her daughter from being abused by a servant and she was sent instead.

All along, her family knew that the person sent last night was a servant from the king's family.

She wasn't angry with anyone or the King's family. No, but she was furious because she was deceived by her adoptive mother, the same people she called family, but now it is crystal clear that she wasn't regarded as a member of the family from the beginning.

But there's even a catch: the person she slept with last night is the Alpha King. Her brother-in-law.
