Selene POV

I woke up standing in a forest.Not the devastated wasteland I’d seen outside the compound. This was alive. Green and very beautiful .

Sunlight filtered through the trees. Birds sang. The air smelled clean and fresh.

Where am I?

“Selene.”

I turned to the sound of the familiar voice coming from behind me. It was the man from the barrier. His dark hair caught the light. Green eyes that looked at me with such desperate hope.

Fear spiked through me.
