Pain woke me up before my eyes opened.

My whole body felt like I had been crushed under rocks. Which wasn’t far from the truth.

I coughed and dust filled my mouth. Everything hurts. My ribs. My head. Even my arms.

But worse than the physical pain was the bond. It felt wrong. Stretched and damaged like a rope that had been pulled too hard.

I forced my eyes open. Dust filled the air. It was so thick I could barely see anything. Pieces of ceiling and walls were everywhere.
