I walked down the corridor slowly, deliberately taking the long route back to my quarters. Kael and Selene needed space. And time to process everything without the Beta hovering around like some overprotective guard dog.

My feet carried me past the guest wing, past the rooms where visiting pack members usually stayed. Most of them were empty now. We’d sent word to families to evacuate non-essential personnel. Get them somewhere safe before the fighting starts.
