“Kael, are you okay with leaving her alone with Lyra?” Marcus asked, not looking up from the map we’d been studying for the past hour. “I don’t trust her. Something about it is fishy.”

I leaned back in my chair, considering. “I don’t trust her either.”

“Then why let Selene go in there alone?”

“Because I trust Selene. She’s much stronger than she ever was.” I met Marcus’s eyes. “Plus, I’ll snap Lyra’s neck before she thinks about doing anything. ...
