My eyes opened slowly.

The ceiling above me was beautiful. Ornate moldings with delicate patterns. Soft candlelight casting dancing shadows across the wall.

I smiled. This room always made me feel safe. And completely at peace.

Home.

I stretched languidly, feeling the silk sheets slide against my skin. My body felt wonderful. Like I’d had the best sleep of my life.

The bond in my chest hummed contentedly. I could feel him nearby. My mate. The other half of my soul.
