Everywhere was dark. 

The heat slowly began to spread all round my body. My heart beat began to drum up to my hearing - my body was coming back to life. 

I was beaten black and blue. All I could remember was blacking out with so much pain ripping through my bones. I felt my spirit leave my body slowly but I promised myself that I wasn't going to die. I prayed to God not to let me die.
