Using this opportunity, Eeshani jumped out of the mandap and took a run to the exit. Her anklets rattled along and marked her flight. Vikrant caught a sound of her anklets and at once gave the word to his guards: "Catch that girl!" Do not allow her to fly out of the palace!
The guards threw themselves everywhere about the hall in pursuit of Eeshani. She fled blindly through the palace garden, with Vikrant and his guards trailing her. On her run, a person shot a silencer gun at the bodyguards of Vikrant. The guards dropped one after another to the floor.
Vikrant now, without a second thought, unstrapped his gun at his waist and loaded it, and glanced around. But there was nobody—except Eeshani, who was still making his escape to the gate of the palace. Just then a bullet flew in the direction of Vikrant. He escaped in good time and shot a man who was in the bushes. Vyansh and other guards came, with guns at rest, scattering in the garden.
Everyone was asking questions in the palace: Where was Ratika? What had happened to her? She did not give a response because she did not remember being locked up in a storeroom unconscious.
Meanwhile, Vikrant, with raging eyes, stared at the retreating Eeshani. He pursued her at full speed, gaining on her. Eeshani fled and did not turn back. Her dupatta fell off her head, showing her fair back, and her blouse that hung by slender strings was barely clinging to her body. Her plait unwound, her long hair fell to her. Her bangles and jewelry had dropped to the ground as she ran.
Vikrant pursued her in a maniacal way. Eeshani got to the palace gate, which was already open, and fled through it. Vikrant came too near when she suddenly disappeared. He hunted about the place like a maniac and could not discover any sign of her. Getting furious, he kicked the gate and tightened his jaws. "You think you can run? Should I happen upon you, it would be your last day on earth. No more running!"
Vikrant stood up on the balcony smoking. He had smoked 10-11 cigarettes and still had one in his hand, with the red eyes burning with anger and obsession.
His countenance was flushed with erythro. He was in one hand holding a broken phone and gazing at it with his bloodshot eyes. He started having the memories of the past.
The environment had been very tense at the palace some time ago. This had thrown the whole Sikhawat family into great agitation since the Thakur family wanted answers out of them: how and why did this happen? What happened to an unknown girl, who sat in the mandap instead of Ratika? Ratika was severely angry. Her face was flushed with rage, and within her, her blood was as boiling as her lifelong dream was ruined in one moment.
Vishwajeet Thakur, in his rage, went up to Shrikant and questioned him, Shrikant! I require answers! So how did this occur, and who was that girl that was sitting there at the mandap instead of Ratika?
