MARRIED WITH BOSS

Eeshani began trembling even further. A crooked smile spread across the face of Vikrant when he saw her frightened. He put up the call and walked, saying in a cold voice, "To the table," and said, "Bring it, bring it here."

Eeshani feared so much that she did not want to be even a minute there. She hastily picked up the bowl of noodles and went to Vikrant. She was but a foot behind him when he turned abruptly about and sharply said, You have been eavesdropping upon my conversation.

Eeshani panicked at the startle; her foot caught between the other, and she slammed on the floor face-first. The noodles she was holding flew right onto the shirt of Vikrant.

She gave a shrill scream as she fell on the ground. Vikrant glanced at his soiled shirt and then at Eeshani on the floor. His gaze was flashing with rage.

Eeshani held her stomach with pains-- she had fallen so hard, and the stomach ached. But Vikrant did not apparently care. "Teeth grinding," he said coldly.

"Again, the same mistake? Seems like your brain is still dead—committing the same mistakes before me over and over again.

At his angriness, Eeshani stood trembling up somehow. Head bowed, she gurgled, S-sorry, sir... I just—"

Vikrant put in a sharp cut, "I am very familiar with how to rectify the idioticness of individuals such as yours.

Eeshani's throat went dry. She could feel her heart throbbing. "S-sorry, sir, I was only frightened when you talked to me, and I missed my foot—"

She raised her face towards Vikrant before she could complete the act, and the heartbeatincreased even more. She couldn't say another word.

Vikrant started approaching her very gradually. Now, he vowed in a low, dangerous tone, you will learn how to be still more frightened of me.

Eeshani kept on retreating, trembling forward, as he approached. She continued to give glances behind her—she was approaching the terrace edge.

And panicking, she cried, "Sir, stay!" I'll fall!"

Vikrant smiled an evil smile. Eeshani struck the railing of the terrace with his back in another second. She took it in her grip, and her eyes were wide with terror. She cried, and tears ran down her cheeks.

"I didn't mean to, sir! It was an accident! Please forgive me!"

The voice of Vikrant was like frozen ice. Mistakes, he said, are not things Vikrant Singh Sikarawat can afford. And the people who make them... I hate even more."

Vikrant got nearer and touched her shoulder before Eeshani could figure out his motive --

--and threw her down the terrace.

Eeshani collapsed in response, but at the same moment Vikrant caught her wrist. She banged her eyes in horror. She had been suspended in mid-air off the 40th story.

She nearly screamed when she perceived herself to be in the hands of somebody—but her life was left suspended in the balance. And she opened her eyes slowly and looked up. Vikrant was on the railing, and her hand was in his, that diabolical smile ever on his face.

Eeshani looked at him in terror, and her eyes brimmed with tears. As she looked down, her entire body began trembling.

Vikrant smiled more at seeing her tremble. In the cold, taunting voice, he said,

"What happened? Are you scared?"
