MARRIED WITH BOSS

Vikrant again stayed with her and told her, First prepare dinner for me, and then you may go. That being said, Vikrant attempted to restrain Ishani in order to question her about yesterday—there were so many things that he was not sure about. Dinner was just another reason that he used to keep her chattering and untangle the facts.

Ishani stood in her place at hearing Vikrant. She had already felt angry at his actions, and she felt all the more angry when she was requested to cook for him. She did not look at him but stuck out her tongue to say, "Sir, there are night-shift staff at the hotel." You may tell them to prepare your meal.

Vikrant was enraged by the coarse response that Ishani gave. He moved up and shouted, 'You are having an attitude towards me. Who are you to exhibit attitude to Vikrant Singh Sikhawat?

Ishani dropped her face and replied, "No sir, I do not have an attitude, nor do I have the right to have one." My shift is over. It is not my business anymore to fill your on-orders. By thus saying so, she attempted to pass by him.

But Vikrant was angry to the last degree. With one motion he seized the hand of Ishani and drew her towards the car, coiled his hand about her shoulder, and spat, A worthless girl like you is talking to me. You have personality enough to oppose Vikrant Singh Sikhawat. Nobody has ever dared Vikrant, and you're telling me no.

Ishani had tears in his eyes; he was clutching her so tightly. She did not even look at his face; she turned her head away and replied, Sir, I have already worked the hours I was expected to work. I am not going to work extra-long hours since I do not receive overtime pay. And about preparing dinner for you—I wish to make it clear that henceforth I will not prepare dinner for you, nor lunch, nor breakfast.

Vikrant bristled at her words. He caught her cheek between his hand and rubbed roughly and gritted his teeth, so now you are so quaint as to reply to my face. It seems you forgot where you belong. You are nothing but a servant to do as I like. And when a slave refuses to obey his master, the master drives him away—and that is just what I am going to do to you to-day. I'll throw you out."

Not long after Vikrant had said so, Ishani, pushing him roughly aside, replied, "Fire me, then—send me away from the job. I do not want to work under an arrogant person like you. I would prefer nothing to working under you.

She dropped at once to pick up her fallen bag and produced a handkerchief. After which, weeping, she hurled it full at the face of Vikrant and screamed, "Here—wipe yourself well with this handkerchief!" And in case this will not make you clean, go and take a bath. Then you will at last be as clean as you would like to be! And you think you'll fire me? On this day, her mistress herself is renouncing her lord!

With this, Ishani sobbed and rushed through the gate. There Vikrant stood with open eyes as she went—in utter amazement. Nobody had ever dared to talk to Vikrant Singh Shekhawat the way in which Ishani just had.
