The eyes of Ishani filled. She smiled meekly and said, Thank you, Doctor.
It was at this moment that a nurse of the neuro ward came up to Ishaan and quietly informed the patient that the doctor was ready to see him.
Ishaan made a little nod, and the nurse walked off.
The nervousness of Ishani was obvious in his face. Ishaan saw and mumbled, "Nothing to worry about, Ishani. Everything will be fine." He smiled reassurances to her, and Ishani succeeded in a weak smile.
After this, Ishaan and Dr. Swati went into the neurology ward. Ishani waited anxiously, looking at the ward door. Kriti touched her shoulder with a hand and told her not to worry, Ishani. Be it what Dr. Swati said-- all his patients come out perfectly well. Your mom will be fine too."
Ishani smiled lazily, but inside her heart, she still felt heavy with fear.
Kriti suddenly heard the sound of her telephone. She withdrew it out of her jeans pocket and noticed the name appearing on the screen—the hotel manager of Ishani. She was startled and hastened to disconnect the call.
At the sight of which Ishani said, Kriti, whose was that call?
Kriti hurried to come up with an excuse: No one important; I will talk later.
But the phone rang again. The expression of Kriti was evidently worried. She made another attempt to cut the call, but it continued to ring again and again.
Ishani scowled and told him to pick it up, Kriti. Something significant it could be.
Unwillingly, Kriti swiveled the screen of the phone towards Ishani. Ishani turned cold at the sight of the name. She instantly knew the reason the manager was calling. Ishani glanced about at Kriti, who winked at her to say that she need not lose her head, and then responded to the call.
The voice of the manager was in a hurry. Where is Ishani? Why hasn't she come to work? Is it necessary to give another person to eat dinner with Mr. Vikrant?
Kriti responded very fast, saying Ishani had some personal work that was urgent. She is not going to come back to the hotel anymore.
She then cut the call without uttering another word.
However, this was not the case with her face-- she was aware that she was not going to get Ishani out of this situation easily.
A few minutes later, the check-up of Ishani's mother was still going on; however, Kriti had to take an urgent flight, and so, she left the hospital.
Sometime later, Dr. Ishaan and Dr. Swati emerged out of the ward. Ishani ran away to them hastily with a worried face. "Doctor, how's my mom? Is she okay?"
Ishaan answered in a grave manner, "Ishani, your mother will not instantly get better, but she will get better." You just need to be patient."
Ishani had tears in her eyes when I said that; she could not think of waiting any longer.
In a reassuring voice, Dr. Swati gave her a hand on the shoulder and said, Ishani, there is nothing to worry about. She'll be fine. One only needs to keep patience and take care of oneself as well. You look very weak. Go home and rest for now. I will take care of your mom, ok?
