I was a young man navigating life.I left the small for the city to pursue my dreams and aspirations.I was so motivated and determined to make it in the city.One early dawn,I woke up and decided that it was finally time I make the move.I had no money on me.I quickly rushed to my mom’s room and whispered into her ear,“Mom,can you please lend me 20 dollars?I will kindly pay you back in millions one days .” My mom then laughed,pecked me and brought out a 50 dollars note from her back pocket. “Aspire big ,sweetheart.”,she laughed I haven’t told her anything concerning my journey.My mom was my backbone and support system when everything is falling apart.After graduating from university,I hadn’t gotten a job despite my good grades.She has provided everything I needed from childhood to adulthood.I couldn’t tell her I was leaving home to feed home.She would feel helpless since I’m the eldest of her two children.I quickly went to pack my items into a small bag and said my last goodbye to my room .I said a short prayer and took in a deep breath.I finally came out from the house and headed toward me the train station.I was almost late for the train but then luckily the train had a little problem so we could join on line.It was finally time for me to join,I looked around my small town for the last time.I would miss the sound of the train.I was so intrigued by everything.I wondered how my mom would cope if I call her to break down everything to her later in the evening.I imagined how my sister would sobbed when she hears I won’t be coming home for many years because I wanted to work and bring something home.I had a lot of bad things happening in the city more especially robbery.I had written my mom’s contact on a sheet and that of everyone’s own I knew.I didn’t want to be helpless in case my phone got stolen.q I wanted to change my mind but then man has to do everything to fend for the family I got on the train paid the book man and obtain my seat.Luckily,I got the windows seat. I sat down and a family of three joined me later on to the next seat.It was a couple with their kid.I heard them discussing how dangerous the city could be with guidance and money.“I heard just last week ,they had rob the Union bank around 11pm”,the man said.I was so scared because I just had 50 dollars on me.I became quiet and decided to rest for a few hours before the trip ended to the city.It was a one trip train ride to the city and back to my town but a long one indeed.If things do no go as planned,I would return back to my place and come eat my mom’s food again .I pushed that thought away,I had to make it by all means.I had watched my mom work hard to sponsor me and my sister.I couldn’t let her down.I slept for a while and pondered about everything.The train screeched to a halt and finally we were in the city ,we were in ESTON!

The train had arrived around five in the morning,many traders from the center of Eston city had arrived at the city center.It was noisy and you could hear that as early as 5am ,you could feel the bustling and hustling of the city.Everybody was rushing and things felt as if they were moving forward.I was so lost .Where would I go?Where would I sleep?Could it be that I had made a mistake ?, I questioned myself.I stood still and looked around.“Hey move!,do you want us to be stuck here?” was overwhelmed by the situation.I quickly asked for a washroom around,a lady assisted me.I went there brushed my teeth and changed my shirt.I came back to city center,went straight to an Internet cafe center.I asked if I could do some printing.The guy asked for what I wanted to print,it was my CV.He looked at me and smiled.“Buddy you are looking for a job right? I guess you are from a far place?Over here,the CV, do not worry but then go try your best and see,”He said.I was scared and discouraged .I knew I had all the marks and requirements I needed to start this journey .I printed it and started going from office to office . I had walked the whole morning moving from one place to another.I had just fifty dollars on me.I did not want to waste that money,I walked without buying anything not even water.After several hours of walking and many unfortunately,I bought my first meal .I had no option,I was frustrated.I had given up and wanted to stop.I kept walking moving from buildings to buildings.Most would tell me they weren’t hiring for the moment.Others would tell me to apply online.U just wanted a job and not all these.The sun was setting,I was getting scared.I did not know where to sleep or go after searching for the job.I was scared if I get robbed or get beaten by thieves in case I do not have any valuable to give them.I was so lost.The sun was setting,the people of the city who had business around were packing their items to close for the day.I hadn’t still figured what next.I walked and later came back to the printing press cafe.I sat down helplessly on the ground right in front of the entrance and with my hand soaked in my face,I cried bitterly.I tried so hard to not let anyone notice it but they did.The guy at cafe came out,he patted my shoulder and told me to keep calm.“This is how things are done here,everything is corrupt and you have to serve to earn”,he said.I looked up to him and sighed.“I’m Sam and I work as an attendant here ”,he said again.I was kind of relieved at least I had gotten someone to speak to.
