The leather seat felt cool under my shaking hands. I couldn’t stop trembling maybe from anger, maybe shame i couldn’t tell.

Cole sat beside me, silent. Before, I thought there might be some kind of connection between us. But now? Nothing. Just distance. His presence didn’t comfort me, it crushed me.
