At Claire's Apartment

I barely made it through Claire's door before I collapsed.

Not physically. But inside? Inside, I shattered into a thousand pieces.

"Oh my God." Claire's eyes went wide the moment she saw me. She was still in her pajamas, a coffee mug halfway to her lips. "What the hell happened to you?"

I opened my mouth. Closed it. Opened it again.

Where did I even start?

"I..." My voice cracked. "Claire, I-"

And then the dam broke.
